사단을 이기는 욥의 신앙

욥1:21

생명의 말씀

“내가 모태에서 적신이 나왔사온즉 또한 적신이 그리로 돌아 가올지라 주신 자도 여호와시오 취하신 자도 여호와시오니 여호와의 이름이 찬송을 받으실지니이다”

욥은 말할 수 없는 어려운 극심한 환난 가운데서도 순전과 정직, 경외의 신앙을 버리지 않고 끝까지 지킴으로 사단을 이기는 위대한 승리를 체험했습니다. 자신에게 찾아온 사단을 태연한 자세로 바라보며 맞서 싸워 승리한 욥의 신앙은 과연 어떠한 것일까요?





첫째, 욥의 신앙은 아무것도 바라지 않는 순전한 ‘적신 신앙’입니다. 욥에 대한 사단의 참소는 “까닭없이 하나님을 경외하리이까?”(욥1:9)라는 내용이었습니다. 즉 하나님께 보상을 받기 때문에 믿는 것이므로, 그것을 제거하면 불신하게 된다는 것이 사단의 주장이었습니다. 그러나 욥은 ‘적신 신앙’으로 맞서 사단의 공격을 물리쳤습니다. “나는 하나님 앞에 무보수요 빈털터리입니다”는 자세가 바로 적신신앙입니다. 빈 몸으로 왔기에 나의 것이 없다는 빈 마음, 심지어 하나님이 나를 죽이신다 해도 하나님을 믿겠다는 믿음이(욥13:15) 바로 사단을 이기는 적신 신앙의 핵심입니다.

둘째, 욥의 신앙은 절망의 상태에서도 감사와 찬송의 횃불을 밝힌 사람입니다. 욥의 삶은 한마디로 “의인이 당하는 고난 중에 역사하시는 하나님의 섭리의 신비”라 표현할 수 있습니다. 그러므로 죽음의 골짜기에서도 과거에 은혜받은 것을 기억하고 감사와 찬송으로 예배드릴 수 있었던 것입니다.

셋째, 욥은 모든 탐욕을 버린 신앙인입니다. 욥의 마음 가운데는 탐욕이 자리잡을 곳이 없었을뿐 아니라, 그는 “탐욕을 미워하는 자”(잠28:16)였습니다. 환난을 당하고 있으면서도 적신에서 왔으므로 자기는 하나

도 손해본 것이 없다고 믿었습니다. 하나님께 받은 사랑에 의지하여 저울에 달아볼 때 환난은 내려가고 과거에 은혜받은 것이 올라갑니다. 이처럼 철저한 믿음과 감사의 신앙에 사단도 양손양발을 다 들고 도망칠 수 밖에 없었습니다.

욥처럼 적신의 신앙으로 무장하고, 감사와 찬송의 횃불을 밝혀 나를 공격하는 사단과 맞서 싸워 승리할 수 있기를 위해 기도하십시오.

Job’s Faith That Overcame Satan

Job 1:21

The Word of Life

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”

Whilst going through extreme hardships that were unspeakable he did not forsake his blameless and upright ways and his revering spiritual life and ultimately experienced the great victory of overcoming Satan. What was Job’s spiritual life like that he was able to face Satan in battle and gain victory?





Firstly, Job’s spiritual life was a complete ‘적신 신앙’ that did not expect anything. Satan’s slander against Job was “does Job fear God for nothing?” (Job1:9). Thus it was Satan’s claim that Job believed to gain compensation and minus that he would not believe. However, Job faced Satan with “적신 신앙” and drove off Satan’s attacks. The attitude of “적신 신앙” is the attitude that “before God I am not paid and pennyless”. The key to overcoming Satan is in “적신 신앙” where one has an empty heart as one has come with an empty body and the faith to continue believing in God even if He chooses to take my life.

Secondly, Job’s spiritual life was lit with the flaming torch of thanksgiving and praise. Job’s life could be expressed through the phrase “the mysterious providence of God that works through the hardships that a righteous man endures” therefore, even at the valley of death he was able to remember the grace he had received in the past and worship with thanksgiving and praise.

Thirdly, Job’s spiritual life was free from all greed. Job’s heart not only didn’t have place for greed but he was a man who detested greed (Prov 28:16). Even while he was suffering he came from 적신 thus he believed that he hadn’t lost anything. When we rely on the love that we receive from God and weigh it on the scale hardships go down and the grace we received in the past goes up. Like this, Satan had to surrender and run from this strict faith and spiritual life of thanksgiving.

Prayer Title

Pray that you will be able to put on the armor of 적신 faith and light up the torch with thanksgiving and praise so that you can face Satan and gain victory.
