생명의 말씀

“하나님의 말씀이 점점 왕성하여 예루살렘에 있는 제자의 수가 더 심히 많아지고 허다한 제사장의 무리도 이 도에 복종하니라 ... 하나님의 말씀은 흥왕하여 더하더라”

살아계신 하나님의 말씀은 흥왕하여 더하는 권세입니다. 그것은 세상의 어떤 지식도 감동시키지 못하는 사람들의 영혼에 힘을 주고 생명력을 증거해 줍니다. 이러한 하나님의 말씀의 세력의 실체에 대해 함께 살펴보도록 하겠습니다.

첫째, 하나님의 말씀은 그 말씀의 신적 생명성을 의미합니다. 본문 24절은 “하나님의 말씀이 흥왕한다”고 증거하고 있습니다. 이 하나님은 영원부터 영원까지 살아 역사하시며 지금까지 우리와 동행하시는 임마누엘의 하나님입니다. 이 임마누엘의 하나님이 늘 우리와 함께 하시기 때문에 믿는 사람에게는 고독이 없습니다. 어떤 오해와 환난과 핍박이 와도 하나님께서 살아계시는 말씀, 살아 운동하는 말씀으로 내 속에 들어오셔서 함께해 주시기 때문에 걱정할 것이 없습니다.

둘째, 말씀의 왕성은 신자의 수의 증가를 가져옵니다. 사도행전 6:7절에 “하나님의 말씀이 점점 왕성하여 예루살렘에 있는 제자의 수가 더 심히 많아지고”라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 사람의 말이 많아지면 술수가 많아지지만 하나님의 말씀이 왕성하여짐과 동시에 예루살렘에 있는 신자의 수가 증가하고 있습니다. 이러한 열매는 바로 말씀을 전파하는 것과 기도에 전념하였던 사도들의 헌신이 있었기 때문입니다. 그렇다면 오늘날 성도들의 자세 또한 교회에 나와서 열심히 할 일을 찾아 충성을 다하는 것입니다.

셋째, 말씀의 왕성은 하나님의 능력의 역사를 보게 되고 체험하게 됩니다. 사도행전 6:7절에 “예루살렘에 있는 허다한 제사장의 무리가 하나님의 말씀에 다 복종하는 것”을 볼 수 있습니다. 이 도에 복종한다는 말은 ‘믿었다’는 뜻입니다. 그리하여 율법주의, 행위를 통해 구원을 얻으려 했던 모든 믿음들이 이제는 행함으로가 아니라 믿음으로, 즉 이신득구(以信

得救)의 신앙으로 변하게 되었던 것입니다. 이러한 하나님의 말씀을 우리 가정에 모실 때 모든 가정마다 흥왕하여 언제나 평안하게 됩니다. 주께서 주시는 이 평안은 영원한 평안입니다(요14:27).

하나님의 말씀을 받은 성도는 영적 생명력으로 인해 날마다 흥왕하며 성장하는 삶을 살게 됩니다. 오늘 하루도 주시는 말씀을 통해 이러한 은혜를 체험할 수 있기를 위해 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

7 So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.

24 But the word of God continued to spread and flourish.

The word of the living God flourishes and becomes more powerful. This Word gives strength to souls of the people of this world that aren’t moved by any of the knowledge of this world and also proclaims life. Let us examine this power of the word of God in detail.

First, the Word of God signifies a godlike life within that Word. Verse 24 of our main scripture reading is proclaiming that “the Word of God will continue to spread and flourish”. This God is lives from eternity to eternity and works and is the Immanuel God who walks with us until now. Because this Immanuel God is always with us, believers never have solitude. Whatever misunderstanding, hardship, and persecution come our way, there is nothing to worry about as God comes into our hearts as the living, moving Word of God.

Second, the completion of the Word brings an escalation of the number of saints. In Acts 7:6 it says, “God spoke to him in this way: ‘For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated”. When a person talks too much they make mistakes, but as the Word of God flourishes we see an increase in the number of saints in Jerusalem. This fruit was possible because of the dedication of the apostles who concentrated on spreading the Word and praying. Likewise, today’s saints should come to church and dedicate themselves in seeking out work that needs to be done.

Third, the flourishing of the Word enables us to see and experience the power of the work of God. Acts 6:7 tells us “so the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.” To be obedient to the faith means that they believed it thus believers who once sought salvation through their actions had changed into a faith that was no longer centered upon their actions. When we put this Word at the center of our household then each home will prosper and be always at peace. The peace that the Lord gives us is an eternal peace (John 14:27).

Saints who have received the Word of God lead lives that prosper each day due to their spiritual energy. Pray that you will be able to experience this grace through the Word that is given to us.
