전도를 위해 오신 예수

막1:38-39

생명의 말씀

“이르시되 우리가 다른 가까운 마을들로 가자 거기서도 전도하리니 내가 이를 위하여 왔노라하시고 이에 온 갈릴리에 다니시며 저희 여러 회당에서 전도하시고 또 귀신들을 내어 쫓으시더라”

예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 보여주신 첫 번째 모습은 ‘전도’입니다. 다니시는 곳마다 말씀을 선포하고, 회당에서 가르치셨습니다. 전도를 통해서 말씀을 선포하실 때마다 모든 어둠이 물러갔습니다. 요1:18절에 보면 아버지 품 속에 있는 독생하신 하나님이셨습니다. 당신의 존재 자체가 하나님 아버지를 전하는 전도의 도구였던 것입니다. 그렇기 때문에 핏덩어리에 불과했던 아기 예수님인데도 인기가 얼마나 높았던지 먼 곳에서 황금과 유향과 몰약을 가지고 동방박사들이 경배했던 것입니다. 어렸을 때부터 예수님은 인기있고 매력있는 분이셨던 것입니다

예수님은 승천하시기 전, 이 땅에서 마지막으로 제자들에게 당부의 말씀을 남기실 때도 ‘전도’를 부탁하셨습니다. 모든 족속으로 제자를 삼고 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 주라는 것입니다(마28:18-19). 그리고 그 사명을 감당할 수 있도록 우리에게 ‘모든 권세’를 주셨습니다.

예수님은 또한 전도를 통해 사람들에게 ‘제 정신’을 찾아 주셨습니다. 눅4:40-44절 말씀을 보면 ‘각색 병으로 앓는 자들’이 예수 앞에 나아올 때 일일이 다 치유해주시는 광경을 접하게 됩니다. 이는 그 사람들이 예수를 만남으로 정신상태가 온전해지고, 마음가짐이 정립됐음을 의미합니다. 예수를 만남으로 인생의 본분을 깨닫고 정상적인 사고와 판단을 가지게 된 것입니다. 요한복음 1장에서 나다나엘도 ‘간사한 것이 없다’는 예수님의 말씀을 듣고 마음의 평화와 안정, 자신감을 갖게 됐습니다. 나의 일과 하나님의 일을 분명히 알게 됐습니다. 이처럼 전도를 통해 예수를 만난 사람들은 완전히 ‘자기’를 찾았습니다. 이것이 예수님의 인기비결입니다. 복음전도를 통해 행복을 향한 끝없는 소망을 약속한 것이 예수님의 매력 포인트였던 것입니다.

예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 가장 신경써서 하신 일이 있다면 바로 ‘전도’입니다. 오직 전도에 힘쓰셨던 주님을 본받아 우리 또한 만나는 사람마다 말씀을 증거하는 일에 집중할 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

"He said to them, "Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also; for that is what I came for." And He went into their synagogues throughout all Galilee, preaching and casting out the demons."

Evangelism was the first thing Jesus showed when He came to this world. Wherever He went, He preached in the synagogues. Every time He preached the word, darkness was defeated. In John 1:18, Jesus is the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father. His existence consisted of salvation from preaching about the Father. When He was a baby, wise men from the East came to worship Him and offer Him with gold, myrrh, and frankincense. Even when Jesus was young, He was favored and charming.

Before Jesus ascended to the Heaven, His last words to the disciples included evangelism. Jesus said to them, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:18-19). He entrusted in us the power to fulfill the mission of evangelism.

Jesus recovered people’s sanity through evangelism. In Luke 4:40-44, people with various diseases were brought to Jesus and He freed them from their diseases. By meeting Jesus, these people were made normal, healthy and had a steady heart. They realized their purpose in life and determined their current situation. In John 1,Nathanael’s heart was peaceful and calm when he heard Jesus say, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit!.” He understood God’s work and what he needed to do. Through evangelism many people met Jesus and recovered themselves. This is Jesus’ secret to popularity. His popular point is the promise of happiness upon evangelism.

Jesus did many things on this earth but He truly focused on “evangelism”. Let us pray to receive Jesus’ spirit so that we can focus on evangelism to those we know.
