만남의 행복을 맛본 여인

요4:10-11

생명의 말씀

“예수께서 대답하여 가라사대 네가 만일 하나님의 선물과 또 네게 물 좀 달라 하는 이가 누구인 줄 알았더면 네가 그에게 구하였을 것이요 그가 생수를 네게 주었으리라 여자가 가로되 주여 물 길을 그릇도 없고 이 우물은 깊은데 어디서 이 생수를 얻겠삽나이까”

수가성 여인은 우물 가에서, 세속적인 생활을 영위하고 있는 그 곳에서 말씀으로 오신 예수님을 만났습니다. 그러나 그분은 초라한 나그네의 모습으로 오셨습니다. 성전이나 기도원 같은 거룩한 장소가 아니라 우물가에, 즉 우리의 세속적인 삶의 현장에 오셨습니다. 무엇인가 도움을 청하는 ‘어린 소자 한 사람’의 모습으로 오셔서 “나한테 냉수 한 그릇을 줘도 그 나라에서 네가 상을 잃지 않는다”(마10:42)고 말씀하셨습니다. 길을 가다 통행세 낼 돈이 없어 제자를 통해 고기 입 속에서 반 세겔을 가져다 낼 때까지 길에 서 계셔야할 정도로 가난한 모습으로 오신 주님입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 그분을 만날 때만이 진정으로 우리가 부해질 수 있고(고후8:9) 의인이 될 수 있습니다.

수가성 여인은 이와 같은 만남의 행복을 맛본 여인입니다. ‘남편을 데려오라’는 말씀을 통해 지금까지 만나지 못한 인간상실의 비참함을 동정하시는 따스한 주님의 사랑을 만날 수 있었습니다. 자신의 과거를 치유 받는 은총을 누렸습니다. ‘저는 남편이 없습니다’는 고백을 통해 믿고 의지할만한 주인이 이 땅에는 없음을 고백하고, 진정한 사랑과 신뢰의 대상이 되는 주 앞에 나아올 수 있었던 것입니다.

누가복음 15장에 나오는 탕자도 마찬가집니다. 아버지를 만남으로 자신의 모든 문제가 해결 받았습니다. 쥐엄열매를 먹어야 하는 짐승같은 신세로 전락한 자신의 모습은 모두가 아버지와의 만남을 잊어버렸기 때문입니다. 이에 눈을 들어 아버지께로 돌아가겠다고 결심하는 순간이 문제해결의 출발점이 되었습니다. 나아가 아들을 보고 달려가는 아버지의 모습 속에서 우리는 뜨거운 사랑의 모습, 정지돼있는 거짓 사랑이 아니라 움직이는 참 사랑, 죄인을 향해 자비의 마음으로 달려가는 아버지의 사랑의 실체를 만나게 됩니다.

만남은 우리에게 진정한 기쁨과 행복을 가져다 줍니다. 우물 가에서 주를 만나 자신의 문제를 해결받은 행복한 수가성 여인과 같이, 아버지의 곁을 떠나 있던 삶을 회개하고 주께로 돌아감으로 만남의 행복을 체험할 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

NAU John 4:10-11

The word of Life

Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water." She said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?

The woman at the well with the mundane life met Jesus who is the word. However, Jesus came in the form of a shabby pilgrim. The location was at the well and not a prayer site nor a holy site. It is the location in our mundane life. Matthew 10:42 states, "and whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his reward." Our Lord was so poor that He was not able to pay the tolls to pass through, so He told one of His disciples to find a half a shekel in the mouth of fish in the sea. However, our Lord has the power to make us rich and righteous (2 Corinthians 8:9).

The woman at the well met true happiness. When she heard Jesus saying “bring your husband”, she felt the true love that warmed her heart that she did not have with her worldly husbands. Jesus granted her cleansing of her past. When she replied, “I do not have a husband” she confessed there were no worthy masters on this earth. Therefore, she earned the right to stand before Jesus.

The story of the prodigal son in Luke 15 is the same. All his problems were resolved when he returned to his father. He forgot about those days when he fed on pods that the swine ate when he met his father. Once he made his decision to return to his father, his problems were beginning to be resolved. Furthermore, we can feel the warm love as the father ran to meet his son from a far distance. It is not love that is fake, but active and true. The love of the Father is full of compassion toward sinners.

The meeting brings true joy and happiness. As the woman at the well received happiness and cleansing, let us pray that we can return to our Father for repentance and experience the joy from the meeting
