새사람을 입으라

엡4:22-24

생명의 말씀

“너희는 유혹의 욕심을 따라 썩어져 가는 구습을 좇는 옛 사람을 벗어 버리고 오직 심령으로 새롭게 되어 하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라”

‘옛 사람’이라는 옷을 벗어 버리면, 우리는 어떠한 옷을 입어야 합니까? 본문 엡4:24절 말씀엔 ‘새 사람’을 입으라고 말씀하였습니다. 또한 골3:7절에서는 예수를 힘입으라고 하였습니다. 이는 속 사람의 강건을 의미하는 말씀입니다. 공동번역 성경에는 “옛 사람을 청산하고 정욕에 말려들어 썩어가는 낡은 인간성을 버리고 마음과 생각이 새롭게 되어 하나님의 형상대로 창조된 새 사람으로 갈아입어야 된다”고 하였습니다.

과거 죄악의 옷, 육의 옷을 벗어 버리면 하나님께서는 즉시 우리에게 영광의 옷을 입혀 주십니다. 그 옷은 영광의 옷이요 예수 그리스도의 말씀의 힘으로 덧입는 옷을 말합니다. 그러므로 보이는 옷만 갈아입는 것은 무의미합니다. 하나님의 은혜를 받아 거듭난 새 사람이 되어야 합니다. ‘예수 그리스도의 마음을 가지라’(빌2:5)고 하였습니다.

옛 사람을 벗어 버리고 빛의 갑옷을 입으라는 것은 은혜와 영광의 옷을 입고 예수 그리스도의 능력을 소유해야 됨을 가리킵니다. 아무리 의학이 발달해서 성형수술을 잘한다 해도 사람의 키를 10cm씩 늘이거나 줄일 수는 없습니다. 그래서 예수를 바로 믿고, 예수를 힘입는 자들만이 예수의 옷을 입을 수 있습니다. 예수의 옷을 입을 때 선진국가가 이루어지고, 예수를 힘입을 때 은혜스러운 교회, 평화스러운 가정이 될 수 있습니다. 벗고 입읍시다. 예수 그리스도로 옷 입읍시다.

주님을 힘입고 새 사람이 된 성도는 신령한 삶을 살아야 합니다. 새 사람은 말씀이 풍성하며 온전히 예배드리는 자입니다. 세월과 시간은 하나님만이 주권적으로 경영하시는 인간통치와 섭리의 도구입니다. 하나님께서는 시간을 통해 사람들의 역사적 행위를 다 기록하면서 낡고 추한 옷을 벗으라고 말씀하십니다. 헌 옷을 다 벗고 새로운 옷으로 갈아 입기를 원하십니다. 진정한 회개를 통해서 우리는 낡은 옷을 벗고 새 옷을 입을 수 있습니다.

옛 사람의 옷을 벗어버리고 새 사람의 옷으로 갈아 입을 수 있도록 온전한 예배와 헌신을 통해 주께 충성하는 하루가 되도록 기도하십시오.

Ephesians 4:22-24

The Word of Life

"That, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, 23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth. "(Ephesians 4:22-24)

If we lay aside the old self, then what shall we put on? Ephesians 4:24 states “put on the new self”. In Colossians 3:7 states to put on Jesus’ strength. This strength is referring to the spiritual state. In another translation of the Bible, it explains to clear out the old self and disassociate our self from the fleshly desires so that our heart and thoughts are renewed to perform according to what God intended when He created us in His image.

When we take off the former sinful and fleshly clothes then God will immediately give us the clothes of glory. These clothes are worn by receiving Jesus Christ’s word. Therefore, it is futile to change out of physical clothes to be renewed. We need to be reborn by receiving God’s grace. Philippians 2:5 states “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus.”

You can lay aside the old self and put on the armor of light when you put on the grace and glory of Jesus Christ as He executes His authority. Regardless of the advancement in plastic surgery, a person cannot decrease or increase their height by 10cm. Only when those who fully believe in God and receive His power will put on the clothes of Jesus Christ. When you put on His clothes, then the nation will be developed, the church will be full of grace, and families will be at peace. Let us put on those clothes.

Once we have been renewed in Christ, then our lives should be filled with holiness.

Your new self is filled with God’s word enabling you to offer perfect worship. God has control of time, He uses our lives as a tool. Through time, God uses us to perform His works, which are recorded. God tells us to take off raggedy clothes; He wants us to change out of the old clothes and put on brand new clothes. Only by true repentance can this happen.

Let us pray that we can put aside the old self and put on the new self where we are offering perfect worship and service with loyalty.
