딤후 4:2

생명의 말씀

“너는 말씀을 전파하라 때를 얻든지 못얻든지 항상 힘쓰라 범사에 오래 참음과 가르침으로 경책하며 경계하며 권하라”

공생애 사역을 시작하신 예수님께서 가장 먼저 일성으로 선포하신 말씀은 “때가 찼고 하나님 나라가 가까웠으니 회개하고 복음을 믿으라”(막1:15)하신 내용입니다. 이 말씀을 볼 때 예수님은 이 땅에 말씀을 선포하시고 전도하기 위해 오셨습니다. 그것이 예수님의 복음운동의 핵심입니다.

날이 밝으면 예수님은 이 동네 저 동네를 다니시며 전도하셨습니다. 갈릴리 여러 회당을 다니시고(눅4:44) 만류하는 사람들의 손길을 뿌리치며 “내가 다른 동네에서도 하나님 나라 복음을 전하여야 하리니 나는 이 일로 보내심을 입었노라”(눅4:43)고 말씀하셨습니다. 이 일을 위해 예수님은 식사할 겨를도 없이 힘을 다하셨습니다(막3:21, 6:31). 한 영혼이 천하보다 귀하기 때문에 그들을 생각하면 조금도 지체할 수 없었기 때문입니다. 신앙생활은 우리의 삶의 모델이 되시는 예수님을 본받는 것입니다. 그렇다면 예수님처럼 복음전도를 위해 애쓰고 힘을 썼습니까?

말씀과 상관 없이 세상 욕심에 사로잡히고 돈에 사로잡히는 삶을 사는 것이 오늘날 사람들의 현 주소입니다. 하지만 성경은 “너희 허물이 이러한 일들을 물리쳤고 너희 죄가 너희에게 오는 좋은 것을 막았느니라”(렘5:25)고 하셨습니다. 하나님의 말씀과 뜻을 생각하지 않고 자신의 이익만을 추구하며 죄악에 골몰한 결과 오히려 하나님께서 허락하시는 좋은 축복을 가로막고 받지 못하게 됩니다.

금년 한 해 예수님을 본받아 하나님의 말씀을 가지고 부모 형제에게 찾아가야겠습니다. 말씀의 선포와 복음운동만이 기독교인의 법칙이고 사명입니다. 복음 전도의 내용은 하나님의 나라이며(막1:15) 복음 전도의 요구는 “믿으라!”(행16:31)는 요청입니다. 또한 복음전도의 약속은 영생이며(요3:16) 목적은 잃어버린 영혼을 찾는 것입니다(마18:12,14). 예수님의 지상에서의 마지막 명령도 복음전도입니다(마28:18-20). 사도바울은 “유익한 것은 무엇이든지 공중 앞에서나 각 집에서나 꺼림이 없이” 전하여 가르쳤다고 하였습니다(행20:20). “때를 얻든지 못 얻든지 말씀 전파에 항상 힘쓰라”(딤후4:2)는 말씀을 마음에 새기고 힘차게 달려가는 성도가 성공적 삶을 이룰 수 있습니다.

말씀선포와 복음전도가 성도의 사명임을 깨닫고 이를 감당할 수 있기를 위해, 때를 얻든지 못 얻든지 항상 말씀을 전파함으로 땅 끝까지 복음이 전파될 수 있도록 기도하십시오.

The Proclamation of the Word and the Movement of the Gospel

2 Tim 4:2

The Word of Life

“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”

The first Word that Jesus proclaimed upon beginning his ministry upon this earth was “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15). When we see this Word we know that Jesus came to this Earth to proclaim the Word and evangelize. That is the core of Jesus’ gospel movement.

In daylight, Jesus travelled from one place to another and evangelized. He visited many synagogues in Galilee (Luke 4:44) and said to those who tried to stop him from leaving, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent.” (Luke 4:43). Jesus worked with all his strength and didn’t even have enough time to eat (Mark 3:21, 6:31).

Today people are living lives that have no relation to the Word engulfed in a whirlwind of greed. However the Bible tells us in Jeremiah 5:25 that “your wrongdoings have kept these away; your sins have deprived you of good”. Not thinking about the Word of God and its meaning and only seeking after ones gain will become buried in sin and block out and prevent the good blessings that God has allowed to come to us.

In the New Year we need to follow Jesus’ example and go to our parents and siblings with the Word of God. Only the proclamation of the Word and the movement of the gospel are the way and mandate of a Christian. The contents of evangelization through the gospel is the Kingdom of God (Mark 1:15) and the request we need to make is to have faith! (Acts 16:31).

Moreover the promise of evangelizing through the gospel is eternal life (John 3:16) and finding the spirits who have lost their purpose (Mark 28:18-20). The apostle Paul said that he didn’t hesitate to preach and teach “anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house” (Acts 20:20). The saint who remembers the Word in 2 Timothy 4:2, “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction” and races forward can fulfill a successful life.

We need to pray that we can realise that the proclamation of the Word and evangelizing through the gospel is the mandate task of a saint and continuously proclaim the Word in season and out of season so that the gospel may be proclaimed throughout to the end of this world.
