예배 최우선의 삶

눅2:49-50

생명의 말씀

“예수께서 가라사대 어찌하여 나를 찾으셨나이까 내가 내 아버지 집에 있어야 될 줄을 알지 못하셨나이까 하시니 양친이 그 하신 말씀을 깨닫지 못하더라”

참 멋진 말입니다. 예배를 우리 삶에서 최우선으로 할 수 있으니 말입니다. 이처럼 예배를 최우선으로 할 때 생활 속에서 발생되는 문제들이 하나하나 해결되는 은혜를 받습니다. 이전에는 “먹고 살기 바쁜데...”, “너무 피곤해”, “교회에 대한 좋지않은 인상 때문에...” 등등 여러 가지 이유로 교회에 나오지 못하고, 나온다 해도 집중하지 못했습니다. 그러나 예배를 내 삶의 최우선 순위로 올려놓는 순간 이 모든 문제들이 해결됩니다.

이러한 신앙은 12살 때 예수님의 모습처럼 교회를 “내 아버지의 집”이라고 생각하는 자세입니다. 예수님은 하나님을 ‘아버지’라고 부른 최초의 사람입니다. 그리고 교회를 가리켜 ‘내 아버지의 집’이라고 부르며 그곳에 거하는 것을 당연시하였습니다. 예수를 찾던 부모에게 “내가 내 아버지 집에 있어야 될줄을 알지 못하셨나이까?”(눅2:49)라고 말씀하신 것을 볼 때, 우리는 예수님이 얼마나 예배 중심으로, 성전 중심으로 생활했는가를 깨닫게 해줍니다. 몸은 성전에 있으나 마음은 다른 곳에 가있는 사람들이 얼마나 많습니까? 그러나 예수님은 이 땅에 온 구세주로서 삶의 전폭을 예배를 위해서, 아버지의 집인 성전을 위해서 쏟아 부었던 것입니다.

또한 예배를 최우선으로 여기는 삶은 예배를 통해서 하나님을 만나는 삶입니다. 참된 예배는 하나님과의 만남이 있어야합니다. 기도로, 찬송으로, 말씀 가운데서 우리는 하나님을 만나게 됩니다. 이를 위해서는 하나님이 지정하신 특별한 ‘장소’(출25:22, 출29:42-43)와 특정한 ‘때’(사55:6, 레16:2)를 지켜야합니다. 이러한 예배의 성공을 위해서는 무엇보다 ‘집중’이 필요합니다. 나답과 아비후처럼 다른 불을 드리거나, 홉니와 비느하스처럼 불량자가 되어 하나님께 책망받는 것이 아니라 집중하여 말씀듣고, 집중하여 찬송 부르고, 집중하여 기도할 때 하나님의 임재를 체험케 됩니다. 하나님이 기뻐하시는 영적 산 예배를 드리게 되는 것입니다.

여러분의 삶에서도 예배를 최우선으로 할 수 있기를 위해 기도하십시오. 이를 위해 교회를 ‘내 아버지의 집’처럼 소중하게 여기고, 찬송과 기도와 말씀에 집중하여 하나님과의 만남이 날마다 이루어질 수 있기를 간절히 기도하십시오.

The Life of Putting Worship First

Luke 2:49-50

The word of Life

“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house? But they did not understand what he was saying to them.”

It is so great that we are able to place worship in first place in our lives. Likewise when we put worship first then we receive the grace of all of the problems that arise throughout our everyday lives being solved. Previously we could not come to church because we were too busy earning a living, tired, and due to misconceptions of the church and even if we did we could not concentrate. However, the moment we put worship at the forefront of our lives all of these issues will be resolved.

This type of spiritual life is like Jesus in his early years when he was 12, to consider the church as “my Father’s house”. Jesus is the first person to call God “Father” and referred to the church as “my Father’s house” hence it was natural for him to reside there too. When we see Jesus saying to his parents who come looking for him; “Why were you searching for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” we realise how worship centered Jesus was and the life that he lived which was centered on the temple of God. There are many people who are physically in the temple, but whose hearts are elsewhere. However Jesus who came to this Earth as the messiah poured out his entire self for worship and the house of his Father, the temple.

A life that considers worship first is a life that meets God through worship. A true worship must enable meeting God. We are able to meet God through prayer, praise, and through the Word. For this we must go to the special place (Exo 25:22, 29:42-43) and keep the designated time (Isa 55:6, Jer 16:2) that God has provided us with and in order for our worship to be successful we need to concentrate. We must not become like Nadab and Abihu who offered strange fire, or scoundrels like Hophni and Phinehas and rebuked by God but rather we must concentrate when listening to the Word and when we praise and pray so that we’ll be able to experience the presence of God. That is when we give a worship that is alive spiritually and God is most pleased with.

Prayer title

Pray earnestly that you will be able to put worship first in your lives. To do this we need to consider the church precious like our own “Father’s house” and concentrate when praising, praying and receiving the Word so that we can meet God every day.
