하나님을 앙망하라

사40:31

생명의 말씀

“오직 여호와를 앙망하는 자는 새 힘을 얻으리니 독수리의 날개치며 올라감 같을 것이요달음박질하여도 곤비치 아니하겠고 걸어가도 피곤치 아니하리로다”

‘앙망’(仰望)이란 ‘우러러 바라보는 것’을 말하며, 이것은 곧 믿음을 말합니다. 이처럼 오직 하나님만을 우러러 바라볼 때 크신 하나님께서 주시는 새 힘을 얻게 되는 것입니다. 그러면 하나님을 앙망할 때 주시는 새 힘은 어떠한 것일까요?

하나님께서 주신 새 힘은 독수리의 날개침 같은 힘입니다. 다른 새들은 거센 바람이나 폭풍이 몰아치면 다 숨지만 독수리는 오히려 바람이 불 때면 날개를 쫙 펴서 높이 올라갑니다. 이처럼 자살할 지경에 이를 정도로 힘든 문제, 고통의 바람이 몰아쳐도 독수리의 날개침 같은 힘을 받기만 하면 오히려 더욱 올라가는 승리의 축복을 얻을 수 있습니다.

두번째는 구원의 힘으로써 애굽에서 나오게 하며 바벨론에서 석방되는 힘입니다. 출4:20절 볼 때 모세는 그 손에 하나님의 지팡이를 붙잡고 애굽에서 이스라엘 백성들을 이끌고 나왔습니다. 바로 하나님의 힘으로 말미암아 얻은 구원입니다.

세번째는 높이 올라가는 신앙의 힘으로, 이것은 예배를 통해서 나타납니다. 구약의 예배는 제물을 제단에 올려놓고 태워서 드리기 때문에 그 연기가 올라갈 때 하나님께서 흠향하십니다. 우리의 기도도 위로 올라갑니다. 따라서 예배는 하나님 앞에 올라가는 신앙입니다. 다니엘 선지자가 죽음을 무릅쓰고 예루살렘을 향하여 하루에 세 번 기도한 것도 ‘예루살렘을 향하여 올라가는 신앙’입니다. 이스라엘은 애굽을 의지했지만 하나님은 도와준 애굽도, 도움받은 이스라엘도 함께 망한다고 경고했습니다. 하나님께서 새 힘과 능력과 총명을 주셨는데 그 하나님께 올라가지 않고 육신, 고깃덩어리에 불과한 사람을 의지했기 때문입니다. 그러므로 우리가 하나님만 믿고 그분께 예배드리기 위해 올라가는 신앙을 갖기만 하면 하나님께서는 우리에게 일하는 힘을 주십니다.

<기도제목>

사람은 자신이 의지할만하고 신뢰할만한 사람을 바라보게 마련입니다. 오늘 말씀과 같이 성도는 오직 여호와 하나님만을 앙망할 때 새 힘과 능력을 얻는줄 믿고, 이를 위해 기도하십시오.

The Word of Life

"Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary."

To wait is to look up with hope, this is faith in God. When we only wait on the Lord then we will gain new strength. Then what does this new strength comprise of?

God gives us strength that is like the wings of the eagles. Most birds are out of breath when faced with strong winds and windstorms; however, eagles open their wings wide and fly higher. Likewise, when you are faced with storms of difficulty and suffering, gain the strength of the eagle that mounted up with the wings. Then you will receive the blessing of victory.

Secondly, this strength gave them independence from Egypt and Babylon. In Exodus 14:20, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt with the God’s staff in his hand. This was salvation was gained from strength of God.

Thirdly, this is strength from rising faith, which comes from worship. In the Old Testament, worship consisted of sacrificing animals and God accepted the sacrifice as the smoke rose from it. Our prayers rise to the heavens. Therefore, when we worship, our faith is mounting up. As Daniel risked his life when he continued to pray 3 times toward Jerusalem, his faith was mounting up towards Jerusalem. Israel relied on Egypt, but God warned that Israel and Egypt would both be destroyed. Israel did not use the new strength and intelligence that God gave them, but relied on the earthly strength and relationships. It is important that we trust in God and offer Him worship so that our faith rises, then we will gain new strength.

There are times when we look for others who are stronger or better off to help us, but let us pray that we only wait for the Lord to gain the new strength.
