하나님의 보좌

계4:2-3

생명의 말씀

“내가 곧 성령에 감동하였더니 보라 하늘에 보좌를 베풀었고 그 보좌 위에 앉으신 이가 있는데 앉으신 이의 모양이 벽옥과 홍보석 같고 또 무지개가 있어 보좌에 둘렸는데 그 모양이 녹보석 같더라”

하나님의 보좌는 임재와 신적 통치의 상징입니다. 성경은 이러한 하나님의 보좌가 “의와 공의”(시89:14)를 기초로 하고 있다고 말씀하고 있습니다. 그렇다면 하나님의 보좌의 성격과 보좌를 받들고 있는 기초는 무엇일까요?

첫째, 의와 공의가 하나님의 보좌의 기초입니다. 의와 공의의 속성은 ‘인자’와 ‘성실’과 ‘진실’을 내포하고 있습니다. 인자는 ‘인후하고 자혜함’이란 뜻으로 마음이 온화하고 구름 한 점 없는 것처럼 맑은 마음을 말합니다. 성실과 진실은 모든 생활에 정성과 바름으로, 마음에 그림자가 없는 상태를 말합니다. 반면 계21:27절에 보면 하나님의 나라에 들어가지 못하는 사람들은 “속된 것이나 가증한 일, 또는 거짓말하는 자”라고 말씀하고 있습니다. ‘가증하다’는 것은 의식적인 면에서 우상을 섬기는 모든 행위를 가리키며, 도덕적인 면에서는 비윤리적인 행위와 사업 등을 말합니다. 이러한 가증한 것은 구체적으로 거짓말하는 것을 뜻하며, 이러한 자들을 성경은 ‘개’에 비유하고 있습니다. 그래서 사도바울은 빌3:2에 “개들을 삼가라”고 말씀하고 있습니다. 여기서 ‘개들’은 음행과 우상숭배와 같은 육체의 일을 가리키고 있습니다.

둘째, 장차의 총회가 하나님의 보좌의 기초입니다. 장자는 아버지의 기력의 시작이며 집안의 기초가 되듯이, 하나님의 나라와 특별히 그 가운데 있는 보좌의 기초는 바로 장자입니다. 장자이지만 한 사람이 아니고 수많은 장자들로 구성된 총회이기에 ‘장자들의 총회’(히12:22-23)라고 말씀하고 있습니다. 하나님께서는 야곱의 열두 아들을 통해서 이스라엘 12지파를 이루시고 이스라엘을 당신의 장자라고 말씀하셨습니다(출4:22). 그러므로 하늘 보좌의 기초는 하나님의 장자된 신령한 이스라엘 백성들이 되어야 합니다. 천국에는 열두 문과 열두 기초석에 열두 지파와 열두 사도의 이름이 기록돼 있는데(계21:12-14), 이는 신약과 구약을 대표하는 장자된 신앙인을 가리킵니다.

하나님의 보좌 앞에 서기 위해서 ‘의와 공의’의 마음으로 무장하고, 장자된 믿음으로 무장하는 오늘 하루가 되기를 위해 기도하십시오.

The Throne of God

Revelation 4:2-3

The Word of Life

At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne.

The throne of God is the symbol of presence and godly rule. The Bible tells us that “justice and righteousness are the foundation of His throne” (Psalm 89:14). Then what is the foundation that upholds the throne?

First, righteousness and justice are the foundations of God’s throne. Righteousness and justice have underlying connotations of ‘the son of God’, ‘honesty’, and ‘truth’. The son of God means benevolence and kindness referring to a heart that is gentle, pure and clear like a sky that is cloudless. Honesty and truth is the correct way in all aspects of our lives and speaks of a state of a person’s heart that doesn’t have any shadows. Contrarily in Revelation 21:27 it tells us that the people who cannot enter the kingdom of God are those who carry out shameful and detestable acts and tells lies.

To be detestable refers to all acts of worshipping idols and immoral deeds and businesses. The Bible compares the people who carry out such detestable things to ‘dogs’ therefore the apostle Paul said in Philippians 3:2 “watch out for those dogs”. Here, ‘dogs’ point to the physical acts of sexual immorality and idolatry.

Second, the assembly of the first born is the foundation of the throne of God. The first born is the start of the father’s strength and just as he becomes the foundation of one’s household the first born is the one who is the foundation of the kingdom of God and His throne. The assembly of the first born consists of not only one first born but many thus it is called the assembly of the first born (Heb 12:22-23). God established the 12 tribes of Israel through Jacob’s 12 sons and called Israel His firstborns (Exo 4:22) thus the foundation of the throne of heaven must belong to the holy people of Israel who have become the firstborns of God. In heaven, the names of the 12 tribes and the 12 apostles are recorded on the 12 doors and foundations (Rev 21:12-14), and this refers to the spiritual firstborns who represent the New and Old Testament.

Prayer Title

Pray that today you will arm your heart with righteousness and justice and with the faith of the firstborn so that you will be able to stand before the throne of God.
