노아의 가정과 롯의 가정

눅17:26-29

생명의 말씀

“노아의 때에 된 것과 같이 인자의 때에도 그러하리라 노아가 방주에 들어가던 날까지 사람들이 먹고 마시고 장가 들고 시집 가더니 홍수가 나서 저희를 다 멸하였으며 또 롯의 때와 같으리니 사람들이 먹고 마시고 사고 팔고 심고 집을 짓더니 롯이 소돔에서 나가던 날에 하늘로서 불과 유황이 비오듯하여 저희를 멸하였느니라”

노아와 롯은 심판 가운데서도 구원받은 축복 받은 성도의 대표가 되어 오늘까지도 종말을 준비하는 우리의 모델이 되고 있습니다. 그러나 이들은 심판 가운데서 구원받았다는 공통점에도 불구하고 그 이후의 행적은 큰 차이점을 보여주고 있습니다.

노아는 “의인이요 당세에 완전한 자라”고 말씀하고 있습니다(창6:9). 또한 창7:13절은 “노아와 그 아들 셈, 함, 야벳과 노아의 처와 세 자부가 다 방주에 들어갔다”라고 말씀해주고 있습니다. 이는 노아가 하나님의 말씀으로 자녀들과 며느리까지 철두철미하게 교육시켜 자신과 같은 믿음의 분량으로 양육시켰음을 말해주고 있습니다. 그 결과 아무도 방주에 들어가는 것을 거부하거나 비웃지 않고, 노아를 도와 방주건축의 대 역사를 마무리할 수 있었던 것입니다.

반면에 롯은 가족을 볼 때 그의 두 사위는 롯의 경고를 농담으로 여겼으며(창19:14), 롯의 아내는 뒤를 돌아본고로 소금 기둥이 되었습니다(창19:26). 살아남은 두 딸은 자손의 번식을 위해 아버지에게 술을 먹이고 관계하여 암몬과 모압을 낳았으나(창19:30-38) 그 자손들은 여호와의 총회에 영원히 들어오지 못하는 저주를 받았습니다(신23:3). 롯은 구원받았으나 그의 가족과 자손들은 그 축복을 누리지 못했던 것입니다. 노아의 가정이 그의 세 아들을 통해 영원히 하나님의 장막에 거하는 축복을 받은 것과 비교하면(창9:19, 26-27) 롯의 가정은 그야말로 상처뿐인 영광입니다.

이것이 노아의 가정과 롯의 가정의 차이입니다. 이 엄청난 차이는 어디에서 비롯된 것일까요? 바로 신앙교육의 차이였을 것입니다. 노아는 자신의 믿음, 신앙으로 아내와 세 아들, 그리고 며느리까지 교육시켜 함께 방주에 오를 수 있었으나 롯은 자기 혼자만의 신앙에 머물고 말았습니다. 마지막 때 구원받은 성도 가운데도 이처럼 두 가지 유형의 가정이 있을 것입니다. 여러분의 가정은 어떠합니까? 노아의 가정입니까, 롯의 가정입니까?

노아와 롯의 가정은 우리에게 신앙교육의 중요성을 말해주고 있습니다. 나 자신뿐 아니라 우리의 모든 자녀들과 가족까지도 같은 믿음의 길로 달려갈 수 있기를 위해 기도하십시오.

The Household of Lot And Noah

Luke 17:26-29

The Word of Life

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed the mall.28 “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building.29 ut the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed the mall.

Noah and Lot represent the saints who have received the blessing of salvation amidst judgment and still remain as role models for us who are preparing for the end times. However, although they both share a commonality of receiving salvation in the middle of judgment, their lives afterwards show a significant difference.

In Genesis 6:9 it tells us that “Noah was a righteous man,

blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.” Also in Genesis 7:13 it is recorded that “on that very day Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.” This shows us that Noah thoroughly educated his children and his daughters in laws through the Word of God and nurtured their faith to his level of faith. As a result none of them refused to enter the ark or scoff at him and they assisted Noah in completing the great work of building the Ark.

Contrarily, when we look at Lot’s household, Lot’s two son’s in law took Lot’s warning as a joke (Gen 19:14) and Lot’s wife became a statue because she didn’t listen to Lot and turned around (Gen 19:26). His two daughters who lived got him drunk and had relations with him in order to gain descendants and gave birth to Amon and Moab (Gen 19:30-38) however they were cursed and became eternally unable to come before the council of the Lord (Deut 23:3_. Lot was saved but his family and his descendants were unable to enjoy that blessing. When compared to the blessing of being able to reside in the tents of God forever that Noah’s household received through his three sons (Gen 9:19, 26-27) Lot’s household was only left with a wounded honor.

This is the difference between Noah and Lot’s household. Where did this huge difference originate? It was probably due to the difference in their spiritual education. Noah educated his wife, three sons and even his daughters in laws through his faith and spiritual life and consequently his entire household was able to enter the Ark. However, Lot remained in his own spiritual life. Likewise there will be a division among the saints who will receive salvation in the end times. What is your household like?
