Luke 21:36

The Word of Life

“Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

The historical view that the Bible speaks of is the “end”. There will be a resurrection of life for the righteous and a resurrection of judgment for the wicked on the last day and nobody will be able to escape this wrath. The only way to escape the wrath of the Lord and stand before him is the Word of God. When we stop and go according to the Word that obedience to the Word itself will become our refuge. He will only be on our side when we pray. Only a prayer that is awake will be able to save us.

After the fall of Adam the life of mankind is only full of uncertainty, fear and hopeless. As a result of sin, cursed was the land and it was only able to produce thorns and thistles. These thorns and thistles exist in different parts of our lives hence without prayer we cannot solve them. We must make an effort to turn around from the path of sin and live according to the Word of God. When King Hezekiah scattered the letters that he had received from Sennacherib and prayed he was able to experience the miracle of God that killed 185 thousand Assyrian soldiers. Likewise when we pray for our problems all of the problems of our sins will be relieved.

God is pleased with humble prayer. God will not take away His helping hand upon those who are constantly awake in prayer (Eph 6:18). If you have prayed for a set purpose and/or will you must advance on. This means that we must pray till the end. When we commit the sin of ceasing prayer and only seek the Lord when we are desperate that prayer won’t be answered.

When we aren’t able to pray because our hearts aren’t stable the Lord opens up the way for us to seek through the Holy Spirit (Rom 8:26). This prayer is correct because it is done through the Holy Spirit. A correct prayer is a prayer that is done while awake (Matt 21:22) and a prayer that seeks according to the will of God (John 14:13-14). Likewise the prayer of faith will enable a prosperous reply, free us from all illness and make our hopes come true thus the only way to live is through prayer.

There is nothing impossible to a prayer of faith. Whatever sufferings and difficulties there are the one who prays will live. Pray that today you will be able to experience this power of life.
